Maybe Shakespeare was one of the early Life Coaches.
For he got this right. We are indeed the ‘stuff of our dreams.’
The thing that we tend to forget is that we can make our dreams a reality.
For many of us though we lock our dreams away and just take an occasional peek at them. We just make sure that they are still there. Like valuables locked away in a bank vault. They are too precious to be let out.
So they never, ever, see the light of day. We may not even give voice to them. So we don’t tell anyone what they even are.
We deprive ourselves of the chance of having encouragement from friends or family.
The question is Why?
Do we think they are unattainable? Are we scared of looking foolish?
If we don’t try we will never know. And it’s not about what other people think of you.
It is about what you think of yourself.
Are you important enough, to you, to ‘make a fist’ of going after what you would like to do.
You don’t have to conquer the world. You don’t have to be the ‘best’ at whatever you go for. But you owe it to yourself to do the best that you possibly can.
Remember the rest of Prospero’s quote from the Tempest is….’and our little life
Is rounded with a sleep.’
None of us want to get to the ‘other end’ saying……’if only!’
Take that first step.
